Cutie Pie Thursday: Little Chef

Sunday night I was making some kid-friendly homemade egg rolls. This involved shredding cabbage, so I had my trusty zyliss salad knife out. Lincoln pulled up a stool, said, "I have a yellow knife too!" And grabbed his trusty ikea silverware.

We had to clink our knives. We clink a lot of things in our family. (Similar to clinking glasses while toasting.)

When Mr. Cool took over, Lincoln continued to help.

He was getting a bit frustrated that the cabbage was proving tricky, so he got some hands on help. He was quite the little sous chef--and he ate an egg roll!

The Hat of my Dreams

For anyone out there with curly hair, you know that wearing hats in winter can be tricky. Most beanies, as soon as I decide to wear them, I am choosing to have flat hair for the rest of the day. I really wanted to wear a hat, and this week, I decided to try a slouchy hat.

Voila! It looks cute, I think, and my hair was still fairly fluffy and curly even after wearing it for most of Saturday. I knit the Molly hat in my beloved Fair Trade Manos del Uruguay Maxima in the Mixed Berries colorway. I adore this hat--I want to wear it all the time, and knit a dozen more slouchy hats/berets/tams.

Cutie Pie Thursday: Ogre Attack

Oh, no! What is that thing racing around the corner? Could it be an ogre?

Captured ogre displays claws and open maw.

The ogre delights in chasing mama and daddy, although sometimes mama and daddy have to become ogres themselves and chase a little boy. All ogre fun inspired by Cowardly Clyde by Bill Peet.

Cutie Pie Thursday: Nothing New Under the Sun

February 2011
February 2010

I haven't taken any pictures of Lincoln in February 2012 yet. I put new batteries in my camera, but I just haven't taken any photos, partially because we've been sick, or out and about, or cold. I leave you with a few classics from years past. I can't believe in a little over 3 months I'll have a three-year-old.

Cutie Pie Thursdays: Lincoln, I am Your Mother

Toy stores. Great places for cheap entertainment. I almost got a shot of him in a robot helmet a few days later, but I wasn't fast enough.

Artsy Cowl Shot?

I need to do a couple things when it comes to photographing my knitwear--have Mark take some pictures of me, for once, and replace the batteries in my camera. I'm currently getting one shot every time I quickly move the batteries around and turn the camera on. It leads to shots like this one. Which I like, a bit, and which shows off the lovely quick cowl I made out of some Araucania Coliumo Multy gifted to me by one of my knitting buds. It is a fantastic wool/silk chunky yarn, and I decided to make a simple cowl out of it. I've been wearing it a lot, and usually my head isn't blurry.
